In RE this half term we learnt about the Easter story. Below is a link to the Easter story... why not draw a story map or have a go at rewriting the Easter story? Could you draw a picture of Jesus? Which is your favourite part of the Easter story? What would you say to Jesus if you were Mary?
3D Animals- 31.3.20
If you type an animal name into Google (on an iPhone or android) and then press ‘View in 3D’. It brings up your camera and then 30 seconds later you have an animal in your house! You can find a: Lion, Tiger, Cheetah, Shark, Hedgehog, Duck, Emperor penguin, Wolf, Angler fish, Goat, Rottweiler, Snakes, Eagle, Brown bear, Alligator, Horse, Shetland pony, Macaw, Pug, Turtle, Cat, Octopus and Dog.... Have fun!!!
Last week I asked you to redraw and write out the story map of Twycross farm... now it is your turn to write your own recount from when we went to Tamworth Castle.
I would suggest drawing the story map for Tamworth castle first to help them remember.
Order of the day
We travelled by coach.
Walk to the castle
Tour of the castle
Squire work shop- learnt about the role of a squire and learnt how to be a knight
Servant and Lady workshop.
Back into the hall to collect coats and bags
Back on the coach
eg, Tamworth Castle
A few weeks ago, Willow Class went by coach to Tamworth castle and we were very nervous because it was our first school trip.......etc
Here are some fun activities I thought you might like to try at home alongside all the useful websites we gave you last week. Remember I am always here if you need anything. Please feel free to email me!
Maths- Home learning - 25.3.20
If you are wondering what topic we would have been covering in Maths this half term, see below:
Mindfulness and home activities- 25.3.20
Maths and to support at home- 25.3.20
I have made a few videos to support you with addition and subtraction at home. Feel free to have a look! Please email me if you are struggling. These videos are for ALL Willow children but Place value focuses generally on Year 1.
Model text for English
Last week we started a new text in English. If you are looking to do something this week, together learn the text using talk for writing actions (just make up actions to help you remember it). Once you know it, take it in turns at rehearsing it and then draw the story map. Once they have done this, write the text out. Remember your punctuation and spelling please :)
I will add the writing for the text tomorrow when I am back at work.

THIS IS ME!
Our topic this half term is all about you. It will be predominantly science focused- looking at the human body and comparing ourselves to animals, however we will also be looking at where we live, friendship and learning about the Islam faith.
To start off our new book 'Parts' we played body part bingo, Simon says and sang 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes'.
Dens with Dads
Special Agent Training
(more pictures will be added each week)
Thank you for the wonderful homework you have brought into school so far. It has been lovely seeing and hearing about all the lovely things the children have been doing at home. We can wait to see what you bring into school next week :)
On Thursday we went on a walk around school using our senses. Our senses are touch, hear, smell, see and taste. We heard lots of noises such as buzzing bees, fast cars and even an aeroplane! We went into forest school and saw a scurrying beetle and a huge spider!
We have been learning about Andy Warhol and repeated patterns. Today we made our own art work in the style of Andy Warhol and compared our hand prints.
In Science we are learning about our body parts. We sang'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes', played Simon says then labelled a child... it was lots of fun!!!
