Vision and Values

Our vision and values are born out of God’s love and nurture of all creation.

Together we work as a family to see one another grow and flourish: knowing that we are precious and unique to God.

We aim to live out our values in our school and the world around us: as we play our part in God’s wonderful creation story.

“Gods family, growing together, inspiring our world.”

Inclusivity & Respect, Nurture, Aspiration & Hope, Curiosity, Generosity, Trust

Our Christian value this half term is:

Nurture

Inclusive and Respectful - we include all. Respect ourselves, our peers and the world we live in.

Nurture - We nurture the world we live in, ourselves and each other.

Be aspirational and hopeful - we have high expectations of all. We are hopeful our futures will be bright.

Be generous - Give to those who need it more than us. Think about what we could do to support others. We can always give our time.

Be trustworthy - Be trusted to care for each other and the world we live in.

Curiosity - God created such a wonderful place, be curious about it!

Ethos Statement

As a Church of England School our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as independent, confident, happy people. We provide opportunities for all adults and children to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge and encourage each other to not be afraid to try. This helps us to be confident to explore as we learn from our mistakes and never give up.

Our mission statement is our motto:

' “God's family, growing together, inspiring our world.” '

At Hartshorne Church of England Primary School, we believe that every individual is unique and we appreciate the trust that parents and carers have placed in putting their children into our care. Our aim is to ensure that every child reaches their full potential, spiritually, morally, academically, physically and socially. A strong growth mindset is at the heart of all our learning which is also developed through our Forest School.

The governors and staff work closely together to ensure that:

  • Christian values are at the heart of every aspect of school life. We take part in the life of the church and the life of the community as this is very important to us.

  • All children meet our high expectations of behaviour by following the school's expectations.

  • Each child regardless of ability, gender, race or culture has full access to an exciting and inspiring curriculum, both in and out of the classroom that is relevant to today's challenging world.

  • We provide an independent, safe, happy and caring learning environment where all children are encouraged to be an active member of the school and wider community.

  • Children are encouraged to choose a healthy and active lifestyle, which will continue to have a positive impact throughout their lives. We are enthusiastic about outdoor learning and we ensure indoor and outdoor learning has equal status in each year group.

Hartshorne Church of England Primary School prides itself in being a small, family community, where parents, family members and carers are very welcome.

The children of Hartshorne have selected their six Christian values which they want to abide by and learn more about.  These are:

  • Inclusivity & Respect
  • Nurture
  • Aspiration & Hope
  • Curiosity
  • Generosity
  • Trust
