Beech Class had lots of fun sewing and weaving!

Our Sounds Write meeting will take place on Wednesday 11th January. Please see the attached letter.

Beech Class accompanied Willow Class to the Church to experience Christmas. They found out about advent, the gifts that baby Jesus received and so much more!

Beech Class had a special visitor, the fabulous poet Attie Lime. They had lots of fun working together to create their own Christmas poem and had so much fun listening to and joining in with different Christmas poems.

Beech Class have been busy doing some fantastic reading and writing. Here is some of our super writing!

Beech Class have enjoyed finding out about Christmas and have been busy making Christmas cards.

In our Foundation Stage Nursery and Reception class we ...

  • Have lots of fun!
  • Are kind to each other and show respect to our peers and all adults.
  • Have a positive attitude to our learning and support each other. 
  • Expect our children to become more independent as the year progresses- e.g. getting dressed by ourselves, zipping up our own coat, looking after our own belongings, carrying our own bags and going to the toilet by ourselves.

Beech Class enjoyed retelling the story of The Nativity and exploring their Christmas box.

Beech Class found out about hedgehogs and had lots of fun building homes for them in Forest School.

This term Beech Class have been learning about different celebrations. This week we were finding out about birthdays and how they are celebrated around the world. We had lots of fun making our own birthday party hats.

Beech Class had lots of fun in nursery rhyme week. We were learning the rhyme 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Once I caught a fish alive and made our own paper plate fish.

Beech Class have been exploring 2d shapes. They made 2d shape pictures using circles and triangles.

Beech Class explored the trees in Forest School and did some bark rubbings.

14.10.22 Beech class explored colour mixing today with their 'magical colour-mixing bags' and talked about what they discovered.

What does my child need to bring to school everyday? 

              

Water bottle-water          Reading book and             Waterproof coat          Summer - Sunhat

only please!                           reading diary                                                        and sun cream.

 

When do you have PE ? 

 

PE days are Mondays- please come to school in PE kit, pumps can be sent in a named bag if the weather is wet/cold - remember your child will need suitable footwear to play outdoors at lunchtime!

Please send your child in joggers in colder months and shorts in warmer months. 

 

How can I be part of my child's learning journey in school? 

 

We send home a termly newsletter explaining what we will be learning, as well as some fun home-learning tasks to have a go at too. We love to see what your child has been doing and sharing their home learning in class. 

We also have lots of opportunities to join in with our learning in class too, such as our "Come and See how we learn..." events and "Design to Delight" afternoons, as well as our very popular reading mornings. Keep checking the mobile text's we send home with information about what is happening, when. 

 

We also send home 'Proud Clouds' with your child to find out how they have made you proud and share these in class each week too! 

Other useful information:

  • Each child receives free milk up to their 5th birthday. 
  • Every child is entitled to a free school lunch from Reception until the end of year 2. 
  • Every child is entitled to a free piece of fruit until the end of year 2.
