Ethos Statement

As a Church of England School our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Our mission statement is our motto:

' A Learning Family, Inspiration at our Heart '

At Hartshorne Church of England Primary School we believe that every individual is unique and we appreciate the trust that parents and carers have placed in putting their children into our care.  Our aim is to ensure that every child reaches their full potential, spiritually, morally, academically, physically and socially.

The governors and staff work closely together to ensure that:

  • As a Church of England school, Christian values are at the heart of every aspect of school life.
  • All children meet our high expectations of behaviour by following the school's rules.
  • Each child regardless of ability, gender, race or culture has full access to an exciting and inspiring curriculum, relevant to today's challenging world.
  • We provide a safe, happy and caring learning environment where all children are encouraged to be an active member of the school and wider community.
  • Children are encouraged to choose a healthy and active lifestyle, which will continue to have a positive impact throughout their lives.

Hartshorne Church of England Primary School prides itself in being a small, family community, where parents and carers are considered to be the foremost educators of their children.

The children of Hartshorne have selected their six Christian values which they want to abide by and learn more about.  These are:

  • Friendship
  • Compassion
  • Creativity
  • Respect
  • Trust
  • Responsibility
